Timberline Building Company began building homes in the Treasure Valley of Idaho over 30 years ago as Hendershot Construction, Inc. After moving to Idaho from Utah in 1978, Ed Hendershot started framing and building homes. Since that time we have built custom homes for pleased customers throughout the Treasure Valley, from the Boise, Eagle, and Meridian area, all the way to Idaho City, Melba, and Fruitland, Idaho. We are also licensed to build new homes or perform remodels in Oregon, and with one of our offices located in Fruitland we can easily provide the quality work Timberline in known for throughout the Eastern Oregon area. We work with building partners who perform the highest quality work. Many of these partners have worked with us since the beginning of Hendershot Construction, and we are proud of the relationships we have formed with them. These long-lasting relationships allow Timberline to provide the best service possible to our customers and construct our homes to the highest possible quality standards.
Design & Build
We begin the process of building a home by working with the customer to determine their needs and wants. We want to make sure that the house they get is exactly what they need and are looking for. Based on the needs of the client we can either recommend an architect or provide in-house architectural design services. We can also easily work with a client who already has a house plan designed to make your home a reality. Once the design is complete and accepted we begin the bidding process.
Estimates take about a week to complete. We send out the plans to all of our partners, so we know that the price we give our customers is accurate and there will be no surprises during construction. Getting exact prices ensures that we do not under or over-bid the project, protecting both us and the client. At Timberline Building Company we utilize the most current technology to streamline the construction process, and to allow the homeowner to be as involved and as informed as they would like. After completing the estimate, we meet with the customer to go over the prices and specifications to ensure that the prospective homeowner is on the same page as us. We discuss not just the cost of the project, but everything that will go into the house as well, so our homeowners know exactly what they are getting before we even break ground. If everything is acceptable contracts are signed, and the project begins.
Home Construction Process
We like to involve the homeowner as much as you would like throughout the building process. We know that building a home, whether it is your first or your last, can be very exciting. We schedule a meeting with the homeowner at the end of the framing stage, to review the work completed together and to discuss the electrical layout. At this time we also like to have the final selections for finish materials submitted. This includes all trimwork, moldings, stairwork, door styles, cabinetry, floorcoverings, and countertops. The final meeting with the homeowner is at the end of the project when we do a final walk-through prior to closing. The home construction process varies in length depending on the size of project and the season, but typically runs 3-5 months.
